Jeans obsession – trend which stayed on the London streets longer than fashion magazines expected.

Fashion is a vicious circle where from season to season designers try to find new interpretations of classic silhouettes of the sign decades. New version of 90s – trend which became imprescriptible part of London life. 

For most of the people 90s is an echo of the “Friends” serial and early Madonna music videos. Total jeans look and Boyfriend jeans look in the combination with a crop tops or white men shirts, or either bright wool jumpers with leggings. Many people may afraid to experiment with second, because choosing one detail wrong, you look from fashionable may become kitsch.  

Boyfriend jeans in the combination with a classical shirt – basis for an experiment­. Curator of WhatsTrend blog decided to play with simplicity. She combined boyfriend jeans with light feminine shirt, metallic accessories and shoes with transparent heels.

Alternative of wearing boyfriend jeans with shirt may be grunge. Designers refer to this style a lot: Karl Lagerfeld in RTW SS13, Dsquared2 and Pierre Balmain who combined classic costume with trendy in the 90s rectangular silhouette. On the London Fashion Week best combination of “grunge+ BF jeans" find not models but showgoer’s. Choosing as an addition stretched out oversized sweaters, scarves of pastel and brown colours and crude boots in Dr.Martins style.

Return of the total jeans look happened really fast as well. Jeans shirts can be seen on the catwalks in combination with jeans of various styles and colours. On the street jeans look in usually diluted with bright accessories, fancy hats the same colour as jeans or eye- catching shoes.   The look of Mirosalava Duma remind the style of the yard hooligan boy, but at the same time with a note of femininity. This radical collision of the contrary styles and chaotic combinations- basis for creating a memorable look

Besides love to the jeans, 90s stuck in our heads with the modelling peak of Cindy Crawford and her unique and amazing body shape. Exactly in the 90s crop-tops became highly fashionable which forced many girls to show their ideal belly.  One of the latest trendy looks with open belly became black and red Michael Kors combination of a skirt and top. In the high society dinners and events there was always a girl who wearing Michael Kors total – look. In London, at the dinner in honour to Michael Kors, his friend Miroslava Duma wear this look in combination with beloved by all it-girls must – have  Repossi rings. 

There is variety of examples of realization of this trend. However, look created by Lena Perminova on the Paris Fashion week is definitely best to concentrate attention on. She combines crop-top with high waist trousers, short heels shoes and iconic Chanel Boy bag. This image looks elegant and laconic.

Common example is a combination of crop-top with high wait knee skirt. One of the most magnetic looks was created by Diana Kruger on the premier of the film “Host”. Ultra fashionable Carven top she combined with red leather pencil skirt by Vanessa Bruno, regularly added this style with risk of loss pair of Christian Louboutin shoes.

However, successful realization of the seasonal trend is not the easiest task. Katy Perry in her bright total look by Dolce and Gabanna  “mini+crop – top” looks like a beach party girl, at the same time as Selena Gomez found better incarnation of the same top with atlas pencil skirt of rich orange colour.

Resort collection 2014 of Alexander Wang for Balenciaga became a futuristic interpretation of the seasonal trend: crop – top. In the look book volume architectural tops goes with summer sandals and cropped trousers. However, the best pair for this top will be a long silk up to the toe skirt. Harmonious combination for a walk near sea coast in Nice or any evening event, where you will be in a centre of attention.

Continuation of the grunge topic may be model looks from the street style shoots of the fashion weeks. Wearing to the woollen crop – top and light blue jeans with dark blue parka you will be a part of a London shoegoers’ crowd. This is the grunge interpretation for a new season, which appeared first in the 80s, full of the emotions of Nirvana songs with their unique spirit of protest and willingness for freedom – this leads to the “oversized” trend. Blazers with large knitting put over the shoulders to the top of shirts.

Elena Perminova found a way to make this look outstanding. She wears wool oversized blazer on the cocktail dress, finishing the look with thin leather belt on the waist. Unfortunately, this combination didn’t find an interpretation on the high street.
